At what age should I bring child to see an orthodontist?

It's recommended that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 10, as this allows orthodontists to identify any potential orthodontic issues early and plan for appropriate intervention if necessary.

Orthodontic treatment (Braces) can start at any age, but the ideal time is usually during childhood or adolescence. However, adults can also benefit from braces.

Am I too old for braces?

Absolutely not! There is no upper age limit for braces. Ciarán has treated many older adult patients. There are various treatment options available that are specifically designed for adult patients, including traditional braces and clear aligners like Invisalign™.

How long does will my treatment take?

The duration of orthodontic treatment varies depending on the severity of the orthodontic issues and the chosen treatment modality. On average, treatment can take anywhere from several months to two years to achieve optimal results.

Can I afford braces?

Yes! At Maynooth Orthodontics we offer a range of affordable and flexible payment options. See our Pricing Section for a guideline of treatment costs.

How often will I need to attend for appointments?

Patients typically need to attend for appointments every 4 to 6 weeks for adjustments and progress checks during orthodontic treatment. Some patients (especially those with aligners) may only attend every 10-12 weeks.

How does Invisalign™ and Angel™ work?

Invisalign™ and Angel™ works using a series of custom-made, clear aligners that gradually move your teeth into the desired position, without the need for traditional wire braces. Treatments
